Following the reveal of the new beauty title, Editor-in-Chief Nick Vogelson, Yadim, Ronald Burton III, and Jawara invited loved ones to gather at the Nine Orchard Hotel for a cozy preview of the publication’s first issue
To introduce his second title, Notes on Beauty, Document Editor-in-Chief Nick Vogelson, photographers Inez & Vinoodh, Beauty Director Yadim, Senior Beauty Editor Jawara, and Style Director Ronald Burton III invited loved ones to gather for an intimate preview of the publication’s first issue, featuring covers with Julianne Moore and artwork by Francesco Vezzoli. The celebration, which took place fittingly on Valentine’s Day, was a romantic soirée held at downtown hotel destination Nine Orchard’s swanky cocktail lounge, The Swan Room. Le Labo candles dazzled every corner and previews of the brand’s upcoming eucalyptus perfume fragrance filled the air, while Lalo tequila poured at the bar.

With a name inspired by Susan Sontag’s ‘Notes on Camp,’ and ‘On Photography,’ Notes on Beauty explores beauty in a philosophical sense—engaging with ideas of identity, self-representation, and radical transformation. The journal invites dialogue on the concept of beauty as an expression of individuality, a way of being so fully oneself that it becomes a model for others—through the unraveling of life’s threads in pursuit of personal truths.
