The Milanese house releases The Etro Holiday Show campaign to celebrate its latest collection
All the world’s a stage, and the performers are dressed in paisley—or so it seems in The Etro Holiday Show, the visual storytelling for its latest collection, Holiday Paisley. In the Milanese brand’s latest collection and campaign for the holiday season, the pattern is splayed across elegant gowns and on fluid tailoring, which are presented alongside new accessories and footwear. And, of course, no Italian holiday would be complete without panettone. The collection also includes panettone and pandoro in tins adorned with paisley as well, created in collaboration with Milanese restaurateurs Aimo Moroni and Nadia Giuntoli.
The corresponding new campaign features an eclectic mix of international entertainers from circus performers to drummers. The fashion house, renowned for its signature patterns and trademark jacquard-woven Arnica fabric, captured many of the photos and videos of the campaign at Teatro Gerolamo in its hometown. This Wes Anderson-core wooden theater, once home to marionette shows, heightens the sense of grandeur and fantasy in the rich velvets and silks featured in the collection. Adding a playful touch, the campaign videos are led by an anthropomorphic bear circus leader, suitably named Mr. Teddy.
To celebrate the collection, campaign, and the holiday season, Etro also hosted a chic and maximalist dinner at Casa Cruz, a restaurant housed in a beaux-arts townhouse on the Upper East Side on December 9. Notable attendees included Jemima Kirke, Helena Christensen, Tommy Dorfman, and Myha’la Herrold.
