DJ and producer Luka Tacon, founder of New York collective The Deep and Another Creative Agency, knows how to get a party going—that’s why he’s charged with music programming at Public, An Ian Schrager Hotel. Brands like Prada, Calvin Klein, and Google have partnered with Tacon, while music-scene mainstays Le Bain and Output gave the DJ residencies. The artist learned the ropes on the New York indie rock scene of the aughts before delving into other genres like soul, jazz, and techno.

Milan-based fashion retailer YOOX tapped Tacon to provide the soundtrack for an all-day summertime affair at The Surf Lodge in Montauk on July 16th to celebrate its private label 8 by YOOX’s weeklong beach spotlight store. Tacon DJd the whole affair, from the brunch filled with guests like Ellie Thumann, Mia Kang, Rae Rodriguez, and Igee Okafor, to its Sunshine Sessions party, where Poolside treated the crowd to a live performance. Document browsed through the takeover of The Surf Lodge boutique, eyeing fuschia maxi dresses, vegan leather tops, and knits adorned with palm tree prints. Salmon quinoa bowls and avocado toast were served as endless glasses of Hampton Water rosé flowed throughout the day. Later, a crowd filled the stylish waterside boîte to catch Poolside play its summer-appropriate remake, “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young.
