In this video and fashion portfolio for Document Online, Takahito Sasaki and Alice Lefons channel the immersive energy of a good party
Maison Kitsuné draws from Paris nightlife this season. The approach is playful; its effect, synesthetic. The Paris-meets-Tokyo brand’s Fall/Winter collection is a clever give-and-take between graphic prints and neon tones. It’s both glossy and matte, knitwear and workwear. Layered, and stand-alone. Altogether, the clothing mirrors the visual hum of the dancefloor, transposing sound into material, and imbuing physical space with a certain kind of closeness.
In this video and fashion portfolio for Document—directed by Takahito Sasaki and styled by Alice Lefons—a handful of Maison Kitsuné’s looks find themselves well at home. Models march or lounge about an abstract party space. There’s house music and ambient light; intimate encounters, and casual passersby. Belgian designers Oriane Leclercq and Lucas Sponchiado took on the collection’s artistic direction, as part of Maison Kitsuné’s Guest Designer Series. The pair was inspired by this sort of youthful, textural scene: “Noise is alive, it moves, vibrates under lights, shadows and optical effects. A creative impulse born from the energy of this new generation in motion results in playful layering styles, mixed up genres and codes.”
