The photographer provides warm glimpses of life in the Tanzanian archipelago
Looking for some time away, photographer Lukasz Pukowiec traveled to Zanzibar with a plan to unwind but soon found himself enamored by his surroundings. With a perpetual habit of always carrying his cameras with him, Pukowiec followed spontaneous bursts of inspiration to document Zanzibar through his lens. Providing glimpses into the rich culture and the steady flow of life unaffected by quarantine restrictions, these sun-soaked, dreamily-hued photos communicate a sense of warmth, community, and calmness. “I traveled between Jambiani, Mtende, and Bwejuu and met a lot of people in local villages and schools,” Pukowiec commented. “I wanted to show a series of images that celebrate and explore the beautiful and magical world we live in.”
