As we find new ways to stay creative under lockdown, Document beauty director Lucia Pieroni and creative and fashion director Sarah Richardson decided to challenge a few of our favorite models to transform themselves at home. Considering the models don’t have access to suitcases of makeup, Pieroni provided each with an iconic (yet achievable) makeup look, hoping it would act as a springboard for their own take.

“Each of our models managed to create something special inspired by the images I sent them,” Pieroni said. “I was blown away with how good they all were at applying makeup and how creatively they did their own interpretation.”

In our first installment of the series, Giselle Norman recreates a smoldering makeup look from Ellen von Unwerth’s book Snaps.

“I thought the makeup in that image had the right amount of ‘devil may care’ attitude that would suit Giselle,” Pieroni explained. She’s such an energetic, fun-loving person, and I thought she’d enjoy the challenge, which she did!”
