In Milan, paisley prints and rich velvets dominated the brand's vision for Spring/Summer 2020.

With a rustic venue, iconic patterns, and gauzy fabrics, Etro’s free-spirited, earthy vibe met sophistication this Milan Fashion Week. Set in a courtyard warmed by terracotta roofs, pebbled and grassy grounds, and decorated with paisley and cheetah printed hot air balloons, the collection embodied classy and cool flower-child chic. Etro’s iconic prints and textures were carefully executed in a blend of traditional and contemporary aesthetics, creating a beautiful, natural convergence between boho and bougie for SS20.

Light, flowing fabrics, ornate patterns, and a color scheme of off-whites, olive greens, warm oranges, and yellows created a neutral palette complemented by muted tones. Sheer, ruffled sleeves and hemlines, jacquard weaves, and swirl prints on flowing evening gowns strode down the wooden runway, followed by high-waisted animal print skirts and elegant cream tops with lavish embroidery.  Billowing dresses and knitted ponchos were offset by rich, dark velvets and chunky metallic jewelry, alluding to the brand’s experimentation with a mysterious bohemian vibe. With exaggerated brims on striped patterned hats, traditional pops of fringe, wide leather western belts, elaborate knits, and slouchy pirate boots, Etro’s newest collection reinforces their globetrotting-cool girl design essence.
