Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s allegiance to maximal eclecticism lies bare through candid documentation by artist Nick Waplington in “Blind For Love,” which views Gucci’s Cruise 2017 collection debut last June in London. Fronted by a painted portrait of former Tudor Queen Elizabeth I, the gilded pages host representations of the photographer’s British sensibilities and advance the consecration of the storied label’s reputation with foci on exciting creativity, pristine innovation, and Italian craftsmanship. Regarded for his reflection of authentic British life, Waplington’s images are accompanied with lyrics from the presentation’s soundtrack that featured the traditional English ballad “Scarborough Fair,” of the Anglo cultural heritage where too the collection received its inspiration.

Only 1,000 copies of “Blind For Love” will be available, beginning December 1, 2016, online and at select Assouline boutiques worldwide.
