Document visits Milan with a backstage look at men’s Spring/Summer and women’s Resort 2016 for Gucci, Fendi, Prada, No. 21, Calvin, Diesel, and Marcelo Burlon County of Milan. Photographer Joshua Woods gives us a glimpse seen in the carrousel above.
Alessandro Michele is reinvigorating the identity of Gucci with subtle gender plays in extreme bellbottom trousers, ruffled shirts, lace underpinnings, and it all just hangs right. Fendi continues to grow their men’s collection, developing the codes for the house with leather and skins as staple fabrics—and of course don’t forget those monster charms. The roaring 60’s are back according to Muiccia Prada with a collection full of pleated skirts, kitten heels paired with socks and the most darling coats for the ladies while a boyhood nostalgia runs through the men’s collection. Alessandro dell’Acqua showcased a modern streamlined look, something unattached to previous collections for No. 21. Calvin Klein meanwhile, continues to balance the fashion elite with the mainstream consumer after partnering with Opening Ceremony earlier this year. With his love for craftsmanship and technology, Italo Zucchelli toed the line between relaxed and strict military. Diesel’s collection was stark white heavy jackets with lots of pockets, accompanied by edgy haircuts, fit for a voyage to the moon. Also taking us to new worlds was Marcelo Burlon County of Milan that took Baha inspiration and crossed it with technicolor appeal.
