Faustine Steinmetz, London-based finalist of the 2015 LVMH Young Fashion Designer prize seems to have struck the perfect formula for interesting design. The familiarity of her collection caught our eye—every piece is based on a comfortable wardrobe staple: the worn in blue jean, the perfect white t-shirt, the oversized denim jacket. Beyond each seemingly classic piece is an extraordinarily clever hand for textile innovation. Each piece is either hand-loomed, hand-felted, painted, printed, or cleverly pieced together, to create a suggestion of the above-mentioned classics.
